Rider Terms
Operational terms and minimum standards for approved HATTOD delivery riders.
Effective Date: September 9, 2026
These public Rider Terms summarize HATTOD’s minimum operational expectations for approved delivery riders. They supplement, but do not replace, the separate written rider or independent delivery partner agreement signed during onboarding.
1. Rider eligibility
Riders must satisfy HATTOD onboarding standards and maintain all documents required by law and HATTOD policy, which may include valid identification, an appropriate driver’s license, current motorcycle OR/CR, vehicle-owner authorization where applicable, insurance, regulatory registration, emergency-contact information, and other compliance documents.
2. Rider account
Rider accounts are personal and may not be sold, shared, rented, transferred, or used by an unauthorized person. HATTOD may require identity or document re-verification.
3. Independent delivery relationship
Where a rider is engaged under an independent delivery-partner arrangement, the rider’s actual legal status is determined by the written agreement, the real working arrangement, and applicable Philippine law. These website terms alone do not determine employment status.
4. Safety and road compliance
Riders must obey traffic laws, use legally required safety equipment, maintain a roadworthy vehicle, avoid reckless driving, and refuse requests that cannot be completed safely or lawfully. Safety takes priority over speed.
5. Delivery responsibilities
Riders must protect delivery items, follow verified instructions, accurately update order status, obtain reasonable proof of delivery, account for customer or merchant funds, and report material incidents, delays, loss, damage, or disputes through HATTOD channels.
6. Accepting orders
Subject to the applicable rider agreement and platform rules, riders may receive booking offers and should accept only deliveries they can legally and safely complete. Riders must not falsely accept, complete, transfer, or manipulate bookings.
7. Customer privacy
Customer phone numbers, addresses, location data, messages, and booking details may be used only for legitimate HATTOD delivery purposes. Riders must not copy, publish, sell, disclose, or use customer information for unrelated personal contact or marketing.
8. Cash, collections, and pabili funds
Customer money, merchant collections, pabili funds, COD amounts, change, or other pass-through funds must be accounted for according to HATTOD procedures. Such funds are not rider income unless expressly identified as rider compensation or a voluntary customer tip.
9. Rider wallet and earnings
Where a rider wallet is used, credits, platform fees, top-ups, refunds, adjustments, and balances should be reflected in official HATTOD records. Riders must report suspected errors and must not manipulate platform balances or transactions.
10. Equipment
Company-issued thermal boxes, identification, uniforms, or other equipment remain subject to the applicable Rider Equipment Agreement. Riders must keep delivery equipment reasonably clean, secure, and fit for use.
11. Prohibited rider conduct
- Theft, fraud, fake delivery completion, fake GPS, or account sharing.
- Unauthorized fees or deliberate manipulation of fares or wallet balances.
- Harassment, discrimination, threats, or abusive behavior.
- Opening or using customer items without lawful or operational justification.
- Knowingly transporting prohibited items.
- Using alcohol or illegal drugs while performing delivery services.
- Reckless driving or intentional traffic-law violations.
- Misuse of customer, merchant, or HATTOD confidential information.
12. Accidents and emergencies
In an emergency, the rider should first protect life and safety, obtain emergency assistance when necessary, notify appropriate authorities where required, contact HATTOD as soon as reasonably possible, preserve relevant evidence, and submit an incident report.
13. Complaints, suspension, and investigation
HATTOD may temporarily restrict a rider account while investigating serious safety incidents, missing funds, fraud, prohibited items, expired documents, account sharing, or material customer complaints. Final action will depend on the evidence, the rider agreement, and applicable law.
14. Ratings and feedback
Customer ratings and feedback may be used for quality monitoring, recognition, coaching, investigation, and service improvement. Riders should have a reasonable channel to report fraudulent, abusive, or inaccurate complaints.
15. Changes to Rider Terms
HATTOD may update these terms as operational requirements, technology, service areas, rider procedures, or applicable laws change. Material rider obligations should also be reflected in the applicable written rider agreement.
